John Windh believes few Windhs in America knew Olander and Cecilia had this son named Bror, who died of tuburculosis at age 11. John Windh first saw the name Bror on the family gravestone at the Norra Rorum church in 1976.

When Maria Windh died in 1957, her name was not engraved on that family headstone, though her parents’ names and Bror’s name were there. She left no money for that purpose, nor were there any local relatives to have it done. Mrs. Sven (Gladys) Windh, who was also there in 1976, made that arrangement. She also arranged to have some shrubs planted at the Windh gravesite. When John Windh visited Norra Rorum again in 1984, the gravesite looked neatly maintained. He even ran into the fellow whom Gladys had hired, in 1976, to add Maria’s name to the tombstone, make the others more legible, and plant shrubs.
