Ole’s gravestone shows his birthdate as February 29, 1849. But 1849 was not a leap year. Findagrave.com pictures his birthday on his tombstone as January 29, 1849. Geni.com shows it as January 30, 1849.
In Norway, Ola’s original name may have been Ole Torkilssen Fjose or Ole Torkildsen Gurisbraaten. His wife’s name Gunbjod Kittildsdatter is taken from their son Henry’s baptism recod, but on her tombstone she is Gerena Torkelson.
