As a child, Allie suffered severely from epilepsy. So his mother took him by train to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for treatment but that led to little improvement. Somewhat handicapped, he may have lived with his parents on the farm and after they moved into New Salem.

A memorial booklet published after a big Klusmann Family Reunion in New Salem in June 2005 says this about Allie:

Albert was born in 1888, the son of Charles and Anna (Gaebe) Klusmann Sr. and died in 1957. Albert lived on the family farm and in New Salem. He did not marry.
