Steven was hit by a truck while crossiing the road; he was holding onto his mother’s hand. “He was a great loss for the whole family.” He was buried Aug. 11, 1957, in Fairhaven Cemetery on Fairhaven Street in Santa Ana, in the baby section.

This was before they started notifying families first before broadcasting names, etc. Ruth Windh Spiegel lived about 6-8 houses away from Elaine [my mother]. When my mom and her family heard the news they ran down the street to Ruth's to tell her about what had happened.
