Gladys and her sister Ellen were the only two of their grandchildren Olander and Cecilia Windh ever met. Gladys was actually born in Sweden when her parents were there on a visit.
Later, as a teenager and with her father, Gladys spent Christmas in or near Norra Rörum in 1926 or 1927. Her sister Ellen, at about age 9, was there in about 1928 with her mother, who also visited her own Swedish family in Svalöv about 22 miles from Norra Rörum.
