Rex W. Meyer, Sr., 65, Leawood, KS, passed away May 11, 1997. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at St. John's United Methodist Church, 6900 Ward Parkway; burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Thursday, at the church.
Mr. Meyer was born July 22, 1931, in Alexander, IA. He was a realtor and entrepreneur. He served during the Korean Conflict as a Lieutenant in Counter Intelligence. He received the Outstanding Farmer of the Year in Iowa Award in 1968. He pioneered methane digesters and livestock confinement systems.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; sons, Rex W. Meyer, Jr., and Stephen Lee Meyer; daughter, Debra M. Denis; brother, Ralph C. Meyer; sister, Marilyn Lind; and one grandchild. Arrangements: Charter Funerals/Kansas Chapel.
