There is real confusion here. Ancestry.com records .. including Swedish birth records, immigration records from Canada and U.S. naturalization records .. state the following:
“Gustaf Adolf Anderson was born on May 16, 1865, in Kumla, Örebro, Sweden. He married Marie Agusta Ahlen on May 5, 1895, in Sweden. They had one child during their marriage. He died on July 19, 1940, in Soda Springs, Idaho, at the age of 75, and was buried in Shelley, Idaho.”
A number of photos cast doubt on this narrative. One is a Gustaf and Maria’s wedding photo shot in Gefle, Sweden, where they were married. Another also from Gefle shows young sons Gus and Sven. Another from Gefle shows Gustaf and Maria with older children Gus, Clyde and Vivian. None suggests the existence of a son Carl Marion, born in Idaho killed at Pearl Harbor on Nov. 16, 1941 (not Dec. 7) though

Ancestry.com says she left Copenhagen Sept. 18, 1894. Arrived in New York on October 4, 1894.
But it also says she married Gustaf Adolf Anderson on May 5, 1895, in Gefleborg, Sweden, and that he departed from Liverpool to Auebec City on September 26, 1907, arriving Oct. 11, 1907.
