Charles H. Heid, 71, Center, ND, died August 25, 2013, of natural causes, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 30, at Peace Church in New Salem, ND, with Rev. Joshua Eddy officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Cremation has taken place.
Charles was born on July 7, 1942, in New Salem, ND, the son of Carl and Lavern (Lesch) Heid. He was raised on the family farm and attended country schools in rural Center. Charlie married Sharon Toepke on June 8, 1963. They lived in Grand Forks and Milwaukee, WI, before returning to New Salem in 1976. In addition to farming, Charlie worked for Rud Oil and BNI Coal where he retired.
Charlie loved being a farmer. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and playing cards with his friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Dawn (Michael) Marter, Bismarck, Laura Kautzman, Mandan, and Kirsten, Bismarck; one son, Todd (Denise) Heid, Bismarck; eight grandchildren, Michael, Allison, Katie, Quinn, Breanne, Charlie, Dante, and Antonio; one great-grandson, Paxton; his sisters, Lynette Lennick and Lauretta (Jerome) Wolff; brother, Delton (Susie) Heid; and brother-in-law, Sparky Clark.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; infant son, Andrew; his parents; and his sister, Karen.
