Roger graduated in 1954 from New Salem high school and in 1958 from Dickinson State College. In 1964 he completed a MA at Greeley State College, Greeley, CO. He was a teacher and coach at Egeland and Ashley, ND, a Job Corp teacher and coach in Bismarck. He also worked with the Boy Scouts of America in Bismarck and St. Paul, MN, and for the Human Services Administration in Williston, ND. He retired in May of 1998.
