Ray entereed the military on Dec. 16, 1941. His marriage in Austrailia in 1944 might have been to a women he met while serving there in World War II. There is record of Valerie leaving Brisbane, Austrailia, on Sept. 10, 1944 and arriving at San Francisco on September 28, 1944.

An incomplete ancestry.ca record suggests another daughter, unnamed, was born in 1946.

By 1949 Ray was the father of Darlene “Dee” Olivia Bergin and apparently married to Esther Gonzalas. Valerie married Ned Skibba in 1950.
