Eunice graduated from New Salem High School and Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing, worked briefly in Corning, CA, and completed her Baccalaureate degree at the University of Washington.
On a trip to Germany in 1978, Eunice and George visited the city of Höxter, where her grandfather Hermann Freise had been born, and the East Frisian Islands, where the Freise clan had come from many centuries earlier.
For years she and George managed their home in Eugene, Oregon, as a Bed & Breakfast.
In March of 2017 she was married again to Charles (Chuck) Reinhardt, who passed away in 2021.

George was a Doctor of Psychiatry in Eugene, OR. An avid glass-blowing enthusiast, he died of lung cancer.

Dr. George C. D. Kjaer, 73, of Eugene, died Nov. 27. of lung cancer. He was 73. He served as a captain and doctor in the Army from 1961 to 1963 and served in the reserves from 1955 to 1966. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at United Lutheran Church.
Kjaer was born Nov. 2, 1932, in Clinton, Iowa. to Jens and Maria Dixen Kjaer. He married Eunice Freise on Sept. 11, 1956, in New Salem, N.D.
He held a bachelor's degree in zoology and a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Washington. He completed his internship and residency at Receiving Hospital in Detroit and the University of Washington.
He served as a captain and doctor in the Navy from 1961 to 1963 and served in the reserves from 1955 to 1966.
Kjaer was board certified in neurology and psychiatry and practiced psychiatry in Eugene from 1965 to 1998. He was a member of the board of Sacred Heart Medical Center from 1965 to 1998 and of Serenity Lane from 1972 to 2002.
He was elected a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association in 1972, served on the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners from 1990 to 1994 and was elected a Life Fellow by the American Psychiatric Association in 1996.
He held various positions in the American and Oregon psychiatric associations, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, the Lane County Medical Society and the North Pacific Society of Neurology, Psychiatry and Neurosurgery.
He was a founding member of the Eugene Glass School and served as its president from inception to 2004. He enjoyed sailing, jewelry-making, outdoor photography, playing guitar, watercolors, canoeing, hiking, reading, traveling, woodworking and the arts. He was a member of the Eugene Yacht Club, the Eugene Glass School and the Elks Club.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kirsten Woerner of San Diego and Lisa Kjaer-Schade of Seattle; a sister, Sonja Kjaer of Seattle; and three grandchildren.
Saturday's service will be held at 10 a.m. at United Lutheran Church in Eugene. Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America, the Eugene Glass School or the American Cancer Society.
